Frequently Asked Questions

I get asked this ALOT and the answer is.... all over the place. I've been collection fabric's for years, every town I visit I make it my mission to visit the thrift stores and I always check to see if there is any garage sale's on. I have seen a massive decrease in vintage textiles in these past few years but I am always on the hunt. Soooo...if you know of anyone going through their mums linen cupboard I would Love to chat !

Thankyou for asking but no I don't sorry... and the same goes for the 'Patchwork Dress' and 'Long Patch Pants'

Why? : Well they are my best seller and an original design of mine.

Before I answer that I'll give you the back story...I am a self taught sewer and started sewing and collecting fabrics for this very purpose (House Of Clare) from age 14. I have had many years of learning / studying and worked as a sewing machinist for different companies. Through that time I've learnt industrial sewing techniques, production sewing and quality standards. Now after over a decade of building up my knowledge and skills I've finally decided to turn my side hustle in to a full time gig and haven't looked back. Its a-lot of work owning your own business but I truly love it and wouldn't be doing it if I didn't, so how long? I would say House Of Clare was officially born in 2022.

Yes, I do. When I mention 'we' it means I. House Of Clare is solely run by me, Clare. From sourcing fabric, designing, pattern making, washing, ironing, cutting, sewing, photographing, markets, website building, emails and social media its all done by yours truly

Not at this current time however we do have a stockist in Meeanjin (Brisbane), Open House West End and attend regular markets around Gubbi Gubbi (Sunshine Coast QLD). Sign up to our mailing list to see if we will be attending a market near you!

I would like to respectfully acknowledge the Gubbi Gubbi (Kabi Kabi) peoples and the Jinibara peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land, in which I create, learn, work and live on. I pay my respects to their elders past, present and emerging and recognise their continued connection to country.
